We’ve used Advanced Animal Care ER 3 times in the past 2ish months. The first time - we had no issues up until tonight. The second occurrence they quoted between 1400-roughly 3500 for consumption of a toxin. When the estimate was brought out it was loosely and honestly poorly explained. When questions were asked it became more unclear. Ultimately the person writing the quote came into the room to further explanation at this time it was noticed that a medication was listed on the estimate as a line item and included in the miscellaneous medication line item. It was no issue to get this corrected however it was concerning for potential double billing. I would STRONGLY encourage to ask questions and seek clarification regarding and quotes or services provided. I asked if we could start with 24 hour hospitalization instead of the 3 days at the high end of the quote. After negotiation it was finally agreed upon. I left at 2am and received a call between 9-10am the next day asking me to come and pick up. Which I did. This left me with thinking originally this was a quote for 3 days and he was not kept more than 12 hours. I understand the concept of error on the side of caution but this was excessive. Additionally due to consumption they wanted me to call poison for guidance at the rate of 100+ dollars payable to poison control - while in their office seeking treatment. Note that this consumption was something they had dealt with before, we can argue error on the side of caution. We left and continued the recommendation for care. Last visit was for euthanasia. Up until this point everything I noted was either odd or minor inconveniences or normal care that we would expect. I called earlier this week to advise that when we were there previously to get stitches for one of our dogs (the first visit), the dissolving stitches were not progressing, we were advised we could remove those. With in the next 24 there was infection. We monitored and this went away. At this time her board/training facility is requiring veterinary clearance to return. I called earlier this week and spoke to some who made it sound as if this would not be a problem and she was noting on the account. Going so far to say worst case scenario we’d have to pay 40ish dollars to be checked. After the bills we’ve already paid 40$ is nothing. I called tonight and said I was on my way just checking to see if it was possible to have some lay eyes on her and write up a note at their convenience and was placed on hold for about half the drive only for them to say they’d reach out to the vet and contact me back. I asked what the protocol would have been if she has stitches and I was advised they refer us to our regular vet. I recently saw a post for multiple other options slightly further away - I am open to seeing how inconvenient it would be for those other options to take 30 seconds to look at one of THEIR patients and write a note at some point in the week. I initially gave this place a great review and looked past the price as that was a major complaint area based on feedback provided. I am currently left questioning their operations.

We love all the employees here!

Clean place, good with pets, reasonably priced. Recommended
