Country Critters Veterinary Clinic

Had a terrible first experience with my pup. Filled out their survey post visit and when asked if I want to speak with someone I said yes. It’s been over a month and no follow up. So disappointing!

Charged my sister in law well over $200 for first year shots after quoting $150 over the phone. Outrageous. Was better when it was Country Critters. “New” staff isn’t friendly or knowledgeable at all. Prices went Through the ROOF. We will be taking our pets elsewhere from now on. BYYEEE 👎🏼

I had a 4:00 p.m. appointment and arrived about 15 minutes early. From the moment I walked in, the customer service was lacking. There was no greeting or acknowledgment from the front desk. I sat down because I didn’t see a sign-in sheet, then eventually got up to ask if I needed to check in. The employee with the pink/purple hair was very nonchalant and seemed like she couldn’t have cared less. We were called back fairly quickly, but the experience didn’t improve. A woman came in and asked to weigh my puppy, but she never introduced herself. I actually had to ask who she was, and I believe she said her name was Gretchen. Introducing yourself to clients is basic professionalism. She weighed my puppy, collected the fecal sample they had asked me to bring, and then left without explaining anything. The veterinarian did introduce herself, which I appreciated, but the exam felt very brief. She then informed me that the fecal sample had to be sent out and that I would need to wait while they added the charge to my bill as they were having trouble adding it…After the appointment was already over, I waited another 15 minutes for them to figure it out… The young lady who checked me out was the highlight of the visit. She was friendly, professional, and the only staff member who made me feel like a valued customer. Overall, I do not like the atmosphere or customer service since Country Critters merged with I think Helmswood and is now NH Animal Clinic The staff seemed to be going through the motions, and no one could even tell me when I should expect my puppy’s test results it was they will call you after I had to ask…This experience was completely different from the level of care I had come to expect from Country Critters. The total bill was $189, with $75 for a fecal test that I had to collect and bring in myself, only for it to be sent to an outside lab. In hindsight, I should have gone to EAC, where I likely would have received the results before leaving. Because of this experience, I declined to schedule Preston’s follow-up appointment in three weeks for his second round of puppy vaccinations. We will be taking our business elsewhere. Unfortunately, this visit left me disappointed, and I hope management takes customer service, communication, and the overall client experience more seriously.

Since north Hardin has taken over country critters service has gone down hill and prices have been raised tremendously. I moved from north Hardin/helmwood to country critters several years ago from feeling like they just weren’t in it for the customer and being over priced and it seems they have brought that over when the merge happened. It’s a shame because dr Stewart and Perkins are amazing vets but it seems they are being overshadowed.
