Brown Animal Hospital

Did a great job with my dog Fred! I highly recommend them; they care about your fur babies.

My puppy hurt his paw somehow last Friday. You couldnt touch him and he couldnt move himself without yelping in pain, he would only lay around, wouldnt eat unless I held it in front of him. I get him an appointment set up for this vet and have him seen the same day as the symptoms started. Had to pay $615 for the visit for her to have to consult with a radiologist, another fee, and again with another vet in Nashville probably for another fee. She couldnt confirm what was wrong with him, yet says it would cost between $5000 to $7000 to have him hospitalized and placed on IV and he needed joint taps. I dont just have that laying around and she acted as if she HAD to have an immediate answer. I simply said I dont have $5000 and she instantly gets snarky and says well if treatment isnt an option the only thing left is euthanasia and she said "I can get you a quote for that too". I said I cant make a decision like this without talking to my husband first and I'm more than sure he will want a second opinion. She stated she assumed that was coming so she would email me puppy's medical files. She said she would give him a pain shot to go home so he wasnt in so much pain. 30 minutes later we are home and he is literally back to the puppy he always was before hurting himself. I read over his medical record only to see that she LIED stating she TOLD me she wasnt comfortable sending the puppy home because of his severe state and thats why she didnt just send me home with antibiotics and pain medication for him. We got our second opinion Sunday after she wanted to have him euthanized and he was sent home with antibiotics and pain meds and strict rest! Fast forward to today, a week after she wanted to have my baby euthanized and hes literally back to normal. Still has a few days left of pain meds and antibiotics, but his paw isnt swollen at all anymore and his elbow hasnt bothered him since you gave him the initial pain shot. Sucks our baby hurt himself, but glad we now know who genuinely cares about his well being and not the possible money they could get! He's a 2 month old shepherd/husky mix and very dramatic! Anybkdy who knows huskys KNOWS hiw dramatic they truly are over absolutely nothing, let alone something actually being wrong. We have had him, now, 2 weeks and will continue to have our fur baby for a LONG time. ALWAYS get a 2nd opinion and never let them pressure you. They do NOT live with you and are not around your fur babies 24/7 so they have no clue how they act without being told. There was absolutely no way you were convincing me he needed to be euthanized from running and being silly one day to hurting his goofy self the next. Because I dont have that much money just available, news flash NOT MANY PEOPLE DO SWEETHEART especially without applying for a loan, but you couldnt even suggest that, just euthanasia 🙄 Your practice should be closed especially if you have ever shamed someone before in similar situations. I may look young, but I sure wasnt born yesterday. My 15 yr old and my 10 yr old both said to me they are glad Im not a pushover and that they disnt loose their buddy because a vet was so careless. When he is flopping around growling and lightly playing they'll say "OH yeah, you REALLY needed to be put down because this just isnt a good way of life" Im sorry, but i absolutely am not sorry for this review and I absolutely PRAY anyone who gets a gut feeling from you should follow it and run or just choose a different clinic regardless if there is a wait. Obviously there's a wait at ALL of the others for a good reason.

Great vet. Always takes great care of my dog (piggy)

Brown Animal Clinic will always take care of my fur babies. They have treated my dogs and cats, both old and young. They are always so patient with each one. When my animals are sick they always know exactly what to do to get them back to their happy selves. We love Brown Animal Clinic! 🐾♥️

Dr Brown has been our vet for years! She has cared for my doodles and cat like they were her own! She has come in after hours to see my doodle as she was limping. Treated the pup with TLC while not making feel like an overprotective dog mom. She always Follows up on lab results. I was on vacation in alaska and my dogs became ill at the boarding facility. She took care/ treated till we arrived home. As much as I worried, she updated me 2 times a day and didn’t seem to mind my texts. She did surgery on my older doodle and he did well. Being an NP, I watched everything with my dog. And finally I determined I was not a vet. Dr brown calmed my fears, let me bring my dog in anytime I was worried! She is like a member of our family. She cares for my dad’s dog and now my cousin’s pets! I cannot recommend her enough! Thank you Dr Brown and staff. I’m lucky to have an awesome vet! Do not hesitate to see her for your pet needs!
